Rory remembers the first time he saw Bo hiding behind the garden shed looking tiny, cold and afraid. Rory could hardly believe his eyes. How could such a tiny puppy be all alone somewhere so close to his home? Roy wanted to tell his mum but he was worried that his mum would take Bo away from him but Rory decided to make Bo his little secret. From that moment on Rorys mission in life was to look after Bo and help him to stay warm and safe and well fed until he was old enough to fend for himself and perhaps Rory would then be able to find him a good home. First things first Rory needed to make sure that Bo had a good bed and a warm and safe place to sleep. Rory decided to go into the airing cupboard while his mum was watching TV downstairs in the living room and find an old towel that Rory remembered had got a few stains on it. This would be perfect thought Rory and he sneaked it into his school bag. The next morning before going to school Rory crept down to the garden shed and went inside where he found Bo curled up in the corner. Rory had already left Bo a small dish of water and two pieces of bread the evening before. This morning he brought Bo some bones he’d saved from last night’s dinner, some more bread and the towel to serve as Bo’s bed. Rory folded the towel in half and placed it in the corner. He then encouraged the puppy to lie on it and covered his little body with some of the towels to help keep him warm. That day more Rory felt better that at least Bo would be comfortable and warm and hopefully he’d be able to have a nice sleep while he was at school.
