Trundles had had a busy day. It wasn’t a bad day as days would go. The day had started off with Sarah bringing him his favourite breakfast, which really was the same breakfast he usually always had, a tasty bucket of delicious hay! Trundles thoroughly enjoyed his morning munchies but then it was time to be saddled up to take three different children for a ride around the paddock. His favourite of the children was a young girl called Molly. Molly normally came for her lessons on a Sunday morning and Trundles liked the way that Mollys gentle and calm nature made him feel comfortable. When Molly took a ride on his back Trundles enjoyed giving her a nice smooth walk or trot around the paddock and lanes of the farm where Trundles lived. Molly was Trundles favourite and he didn’t mind giving Molly a ride whenever she came for her riding lesson.
Trundles wasn’t so keen about giving a ride to one of the little boys called Alex. For some reason Alex seemed a bit scared as well as impatient and he would dig his sharp heels in to Trundle’s belly and jump whenever he felt a little bit scared. Still Trundles decided he had to be a loyal pony for his beloved owner Sarah who always gave him plenty of encouragement and lots of love and strokes everyday. After giving three different children including Molly and Alex plenty of rides around the paddock and farm, Trundles was feeling rather tired. After spending the evening quietly relaxing it was time for Trundles to go to bed. Trundles thought about how fortunate he was to have a nice home these days and how lovely it was to have a comfortable bed where he felt warm and safe every night to sleep. He knew that he should not take his bed and home for granted especially because at the last place that Trundles lived and worked. That place was definitely was not as nice as this and now that he had found his new owner Sarah, he hoped that she would always be the one to care for him for the rest of his life.
Now you will have gathered that Trundles is of course a fictional horse and this is a fictional story!
